Marcelo Alves

Managing Director

Marcelo graduated as a Medical Doctor from the University of Coimbra in Portugal in 2004 and is a Specialist in General and Family Medicine, completing his speciality in 2008.

Determined to expand his knowledge of world business, he went to Fontainebleau, France and Singapore from 2009 and 2010 to obtain a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree from INSEAD. After INSEAD, he joined Janssen, the pharmaceutical division of Johnson & Johnson, where he worked as a Medical Affairs Manager, working side by side with the Marketing and Sales team.

In 2012, Marcelo set his sights on the now indispensable field of Digital Marketing. He is one of the founders and Managing Director of Vet Inflow – a digital marketing company focused on helping veterinary businesses market their services more effectively and enhance the client-practice bond by providing comprehensive content creation, social media management and graphic design services. Vet Inflow currently works with veterinary practices and businesses in the UK and 11 other international markets.

David Babington

Director

David Babington Graduated as a veterinary surgeon from the Royal Veterinary College, University of London in 1986.

After qualifying, David worked as a veterinary assistant in a mixed-animal practice in Alton, Hampshire and then in a purely small animal practice in London. During this time he developed an interest in veterinary practice management and small animal surgery.

In 1990, together with his wife Alison, David returned to his home town of Swindon, Wiltshire to set-up and develop two new small animal pet health care centres. Over a four year period, the business grew to a four-vet practice providing a wide variety of clinical services with a strong focus on preventative medicine and client education.

In 1998, David founded the veterinary training company Improve International with three other veterinarians, with a remit to provide structured and integrated modular training to the veterinary profession. He served as the Marketing Director (1998-2003) and then the Managing Director (2003-2017).

Rui Lobão

In 2005 he was one of the founders of the Montenegro Veterinary Congress that has since become the largest small animal event in Portugal. From this involvement he gained considerable experience in organising continuous professional development activities for vets.

In 2008 he was invited to join the Improve Iberica team, becoming a Partner and then a Director in 2009. Mariana Dezolt

Marketing & Client Support, PT/ES

After graduating in Languages, attending Digital Marketing courses and Social Media management workshops, it was in 2018 that I finished my Master’s degree in Communication and Multimedia, with a specialisation in audio-visual content.

I had the pleasure of joining the team at Vet Inflow soon after, where I’m responsible for managing and supporting clients in the Portuguese and Spanish market, as well as managing their Social Media pages. Working at Vet Inflow allows me to use the communication skills I learned during my education, and help our clients to grow. Here, I can do that, and much more.

I am passionate about photography, I’m a photographer in my spare time, and my cats, Mia and Olivia, have no other choice but to pose as models. I also love to cook while listening to my favourite songs, which, to me, describes the perfect scenario for a Sunday afternoon.

Jane Carter

Marketing & Client Support, UK

For 25 years I had a variety of roles from Nursing, Reception and Marketing all at Drove Vets in Swindon, giving me a great all-round view of life in the veterinary world, from the joys and struggles to everything in between!

Now my role at Vet Inflow allows me to widen my horizons and pursue my passion of Marketing & PR.

I am a real ‘people’ person and enjoy talking to a practice about how we can help and support them, understanding not only their needs but that of their clients too.

I absolutely love ‘thinking outside the box’, creating exciting ideas to portray a practice’s brand, ethos and identity.

I am owned by Retro, a rescue Chihuahua (never in my life did I ever think I’d have a Chihuahua!), 2 RSPCA Cats and 4 Tortoises.

Daniela Martins

Veterinary Communication & Client Support

I worked as a small animal Veterinary Surgeon since I graduated in 2014 until I joined the team at Vet Inflow in 2018.

Given the growing amount of information available online, when I saw the opportunity to create reliable content about animal health that would be easily accessible to a significant number of people, I knew this was a job I wanted to have!

Today, Social Media is an integral part of everyone’s life, and it’s a fact that people will form their opinion of a business based, in part, on what they see online. Working alongside our clients to make sure their online presence is matching their values is something I really enjoy doing.

One of the things I discovered while working at Vet Inflow was a passion for creative projects, and my 2 rescue black cats are definitely a great source of inspiration.

Joana Correia

Veterinary Communication & Client Support

Howdy, I’m Jo! I graduated from Vet Med school in 2015 and after a brief stint in the USA, I started my career as a wild animal pathologist, helping researchers crack the deadly outbreak of RHVD2 in rabbits. After that, I volunteered as a behaviour and health tech in southern Portugal on the Iberian lynx recovery project.

I’ve been writing fiction since I was tall enough to reach a keyboard and I’m passionate about communicating science in accessible ways. My time spent in different research teams has taught me the vital importance of outreach and broader public awareness to the success of vet-client relationships.

At Vet Inflow, I’m part of the copywriting and page management team and I’m proud to help our clients foster thriving Social Media communities, especially now that a lot of owner communication is done online.

When I’m not writing snappy copy, I like hauling barbells off the floor, doing art, going for long walkies with my dog and learning to code.

Tânia Oliveira

Graphic Design & Web Development

I’m Tânia, and art has been my passion for as long as I can remember. My entire education path was focussed on this area - I studied Visual Arts in High School, and I graduated in Design and Multimedia in 2015.

In 2016, I had the opportunity to start working at Vet Inflow. I love working here because I can put into practice everything I learned and like to do. At Vet Inflow, I create projects from the ground up, creating all the visual materials and getting them to the final stage, via printing (like leaflets, brochures and logos) or digital solutions (like web development, mobile apps and videos). I’m also responsible for creating visual content for Social Media.

Recently, I adopted Elf, a Siamese cat with a strong personality. In my spare time, I’m a cake designer, another activity where I can explore my creativity. I also love to travel, listen to music and watch movies/series.

You wouldn’t believe it, but in my short life experience, I’ve managed to graduate as a Survivalist, from the University of the Streets. Otherwise, I wouldn’t have survived for two days in underground sewers, until the team at Vet Inflow were able to reach and rescue me.

Today, I’m Vet Inflow’s mascot, and I’m responsible for team support and morale, with my favourite office activities including falling asleep on keyboards, climbing shelves and express squeaky alerts as soon as I find food supplies are shortening.

In my spare time, I enjoy communicating with all birds that fly by my window, playing with my sister Mia, and sprinting around the house.
